Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 312 #OTP

This week we have our normal collection of updates for Windows Insiders with the latest builds and progress across a couple of development branches for Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge (Chromium). However, I begin with an explanation of the final state of my link curation process to avoid Twitter’s aggressive algorithms plus I get on my soapbox about headlines and misdirection with one privacy related story I read this week. After that it is our normal weekly run down of updates around apps, services, security, hardware, social media, and gaming. At the end of it all I mention a couple of space items that you should be aware of as the next five years are going to be crazy as NASA heads back to the moon! Make sure you listen from start to finish to catch all the headlines.

We catch up on the Windows 10 19H1 development cycle as it begins in earnest plus we discuss the status of the delayed October 2018 Update. Surface Pro 6 and Surface Laptop 2 landed in retail channels this week so that means a bevy of reviews are also out on the new hardware. There are also new apps, app features, and other hardware that were announced/shared this past week including further integration of Microsoft To-Do into other inbox apps on Windows 10. Of course, there are other tidbits sprinkled throughout the show including Cortana’s 3.0 beta on Android and iOS, Microsoft’s continued anti-hacking and anti-piracy efforts, and the latest with the next update for Xbox Insiders. Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 279 #OTP

This week’s show begins with a stroll down memory lane to about 23 years ago when Windows 95 was released to the public. It corresponds with the early beginnings of this very website and where I am today. Next we talk about Windows Insidering with new Redstone 5 Fast Ring Builds, two of them this week once again, as we get closer to the public release of what is expected to be called the October 2018 Update. We also have news about a new Office 365/Microsoft 365 merged roadmap before Ignite next month and a bunch of Xbox related news from Gamescom in Europe this past week. Of course, those are just snapshots into the content in this weeks show so be sure to listen all the way until the end for all the details. As always, thanks for listening.

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 142 #OTP

Welcome to Episode 142. I begin the show by explaining a change in the weekly production and publication of the OTP because of my new full time job. Bottom line is that you should get each week’s new episode on Monday and occasionally on Tuesday when the Monday is a holiday – like this week for example. Flexibility is the name of the game when it comes to getting the podcast out but it is a good problem to have – a full time job to work around. I also hit on apps and Windows Phone again because it always seems to be an issue and also mention the breaking news of upload file size limitations being removed for Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud storage. Of course the normal collection of tech news and other items fill up the rest of the show. Until next time enjoy the show and thanks for listening.
