In early March Roku announced the latest edition to their streaming product offerings the Roku 3. Alongside of that announcement they briefly mentioned that the new interface on the Roku 3 would also be made available for the Roku 2, Roku HD (Model 2500) , Roku LT and Roku Streaming Stick devices.
In an email to users late last week Roku confirmed the new interface will begin rolling out over the next few weeks and will be an automatic upgrade for the aforementioned devices. It will also be a free upgrade for those devices and should complete its roll out by May 2013.

I discovered Roku last summer and find it to be a terrific device. We watch our Amazon Prime video on it almost exclusively.
If you are looking to cut the cable cord soon this could very well be an option with the huge channel selection on the service.
