Several months ago Microsoft began testing a new piece of software to bring together the features of their IntelliPoint and IntelliType Pro software and drivers for the line of keyboard and mice. This program allows you to customize the default settings for your Microsoft keyboard and mice for use on your computer.
Most recently version 1.1.5 of this software has been available since the September timeframe but yesterday the company posted version 2.0.161.0 to its download center.
This version, like the 1.X version, is Windows 8 compatible and the timing of its release is likely not a coincidence with General Availability of the new OS just one week away.
The download is available at the Microsoft Download Center – Mouse and Keyboard Center 2.0 (formerly IntelliPoint and IntelliType Pro) and is available in both 32 and 64 bit versions for 13 languages.
