On the eve of the 2012 MVP Summit an event called Consumer Camp was held at the Microsoft Store here in Bellevue, WA.
Consumer Camp is a series of meet-and-greet opportunities where members of the community can get real-world advice, opinions, demonstrations, and information from Microsoft MVPs (Most Valuable Professionals). Marques Lyon, otherwise know as @tromboneforhire on Twitter, is the coordinator behind the Consumer Camp events.
During tonight’s event the following subjects were discussed and demoed at the store by Microsoft product group members and MVP’s:
- Hotmail and how you can conquer graymail
- Using Hotmail in conjunction with SkyDrive for sharing documents and pictures
- Zune music and how it works across multiple devices
- Xbox 360
Thanks to donations from the Microsoft Xbox team and Microsoft store the evening wrapped up with some great giveaways including the grand prize of an Xbox 360 console with Kinect, 250GB hard drive, several games, one year of free Xbox Live Gold, Microsoft point cards and other items.
So if you ever hear about a Consumer Camp event happening at your local Microsoft Store then you should attend for a chance to learn something new and maybe take some cool gear home.
