Over the last few months there have been many indications that a Microsoft Store would be coming to my neck of the woods here in North East Florida and I have even done a bit of sleuthing myself looking for clues.
However, as official these indicators may seem there has not been anything official from Microsoft to confirm the store is coming.
Today that all changed via a couple of different official Microsoft sources.
The first one was an entry from the Microsoft Store official Facebook account earlier today:
If you then head to the Microsoft Store website and look at the listing for all stores the St. John’s Town Center store is now listed as Coming Soon:
Once this and the other new store opens in Orlando, which will be the second one in that area, that will bring the total to 7 retail locations across the state of Florida.
Clicking on the entry for Jacksonville brings up all the details about this store including the address and location I tracked down a couple of weeks ago in my own investigative blogging.
So now all we need to confirm is the date for the grand opening of the store but I suspect it will not be any earlier than 19 September 2013 because the Microsoft Store Facebook page also posted today about the opening of a new store in Burlington, MA which is scheduled for that date.
So the retail expansions continue for Microsoft and yes this store is just down the road from the Apple Store at the St. John’s Town Center.
