Update: Amazon is still offering the $30 promotional credit however, it is now being applied to the Windows 8 Pro Upgrade at the $159 price level which is only a $40 savings of MSRP. They are also offering the Microsoft Windows 8 Pro Pack at $69.99 and the $30 promotional credit is available for that. The big difference is that the Windows 8 Pro Pack is a code that you can only use to upgrade a Windows 8 device to Windows 8 Pro. The good deal is done it seems and Microsoft’s $40 Windows 8 Pro upgrade deal looks like the best deal left out there.
Well for at least three days it looks like Amazon has matched and gone one better on the upcoming $40 Windows 8 Pro upgrade deal that goes into effect on the 26th of this month from Microsoft.
Over at the Windows 8 Pro Pre-Order page on Amazon.com there is now a new credit being offered with the purchase:
Pre-order Select Windows 8 Software, Get a $30 Amazon.com Promotional Credit – Through October 20, 2012, purchase select Windows 8 software and get a $30 Amazon.com promotional credit toward the purchase of items shipped and sold by Amazon.com (certain exclusions apply, including Kindle books, MP3s, and video rentals and downloads). The promotional credit will be emailed thirty days after your order ships. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. See full terms and conditions for more details.
Note that this offer only lasts until the 20th but if you are already going to spend more money at Amazon.com in the future why not get your Windows 8 Pro Upgrade at $40.
This deal includes the physical DVD in the box and then you have $30 bucks to spend later on what you want. Even the $40 offer from Microsoft does not include the physical media.
Any reason not to take advantage of this deal?
