Amazon announced at CES a new an application that will let Kindle users synchronize and view Microsoft files held in cloud storage via their devices.

The “Send to Kindle” for PC application which adds a right-click option on any Windows application that adds a Send to Kindle option to the Select Printer list in the Print dialog. Send to Kindle then converts the file to the Kindle’s .azw format, boots the image up into cloud storage via email to Amazon Whispersync which synchronizes with the Kindle device.

The “Send to Kindle” plug-in is only available for Windows, but Amazon says support for Macs is coming soon.

We are excited to announce “Send to Kindle” for PC, adding another convenient way to send documents to your Kindle device or supported Kindle app from Windows Explorer and many other Windows applications. From Windows Explorer, simply right-click on one or more documents and choose Send to Kindle. From any other Windows application that can print, select Print and choose Send to Kindle.
