There is of course a slight catch from Criterion in order to have them release the free downloadable content.
This trailer video needs to get 1 million views no later than 12 December 2010 to trigger the release of the free content.

We all knew that Autolog was something special, but you guys are proving that it’s going to change racing games forever. We actually feel sort of guilty for ruining so many friendships over the last week – with over 3 million challenges exchanged already, it’s clear that all is fair when it comes to the Speedwall. So now we have a challenge for all of you! The dev team has put together a pack of 3 supercar convertibles – the Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible, the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster , and the Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible Final Edition. If we can get the Need for Speed Hot Pursuit launch trailer to 1 million views by December 12th, these three amazing rides will be our little holiday gift to all of you playing Hot Pursuit. The race is on!
So is it an achievable goal? Well let’s do a little math and see.
According to this post from the Nexus404.com blog which was posted yesterday, 26 November, the trailer had 145K views. This morning as I write this post the trailer is at 228K. That is 83K views in one day.
If that pace maintains then it will take somewhere between 9 and 10 days to reach 1 million views which puts us over the top on or about the 6th or 7th of December. However, I predict the pace will pick up and we will go over the top on this before the 5th of December.
