The Microsoft Xbox Team has decided that the recently unveiled Slim Xbox 360 will not use the infamous Red Rings of Death, otherwise known as RROD, to notify an owner about a catastrophic event on their console.

During an interview that Erik Brudvig of IGN did with Phil Spencer the Corporate VP for Microsoft Game Studios, he confirmed that detail:

…the box has a way to communicate to you if something has happened…but yes, three red lights are not part of our sequence of telling somebody something is wrong.
