As the year comes to an end we hope your 2012 will be a prosperous one.

This past year was one of transition for me as I moved from the ranks of active duty in the Navy and joined the retired list after more than 29 years.  I am enjoying the full time job of running WindowsObserver.com and keeping an even closer eye on tech than ever before – and now a more real time eye on it instead of just early mornings and late nights after work.

This year we also welcomed aboard our Editor in Chief, Ian Steinberg, who is helping us get that tech news out to you all on a daily basis.  We introduced a new weekly column, Windows Phone App Flow, from Microsoft MVP Travis Pope who will bring us three new apps for your Windows Phone handset each week. Of course, all of our guest bloggers continue to add terrific content to the site and we look forward to seeing their stories in the future.

The Observed Tech PODCAST finally moved to a weekly production schedule now that I am retired and working full time on the site.  Expect at least one new PODCAST to be developed in 2012 and a move into more video as well.

Here are some stats for WindowsObserver.com in 2011:

  • 726GB of total website traffic
  • 1,025 blog posts
  • Windows 7 Themepacks and Wallpaper Collections – 46 posted and downloaded 13,967 times
  • Observed Tech PODCAST – downloaded 5,011 times
