Faith, Tech, and Space (Episode 15)

Here at the very end of August in a quite different year than we all expected when it started, there is still plenty to discuss about faith, tech, and space. We kick this episode off with a discussion around returning to movie theaters to watch movies during this active pandemic plus an update an update about my recent PC Build and SSD drives. Next is the final couple of weeks in the summer break for my cohort’s continuing formation and classes beginning in just a couple of weeks. In tech, we layout new builds for Windows and Edge Insiders including a significant upcoming milestone. Surface Duo review are in the hands of reviewers and influencers but it is everyday folks without embargos that are going into Best Buy and AT&T stores to give full operational demos of the dual-screened devices ahead of schedule. IN other tech headlines there is more on the Epic vs Apple app store fight, talk about the Amazon Halo, TikTok, tech scam insider information to help awareness, and big changes in real estate in the pandemic. In space we have launches and scrubs and we wrap up reminiscing about the 25 year anniversary of Windows 95, Office, 95, and of course this website!

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 279 #OTP

This week’s show begins with a stroll down memory lane to about 23 years ago when Windows 95 was released to the public. It corresponds with the early beginnings of this very website and where I am today. Next we talk about Windows Insidering with new Redstone 5 Fast Ring Builds, two of them this week once again, as we get closer to the public release of what is expected to be called the October 2018 Update. We also have news about a new Office 365/Microsoft 365 merged roadmap before Ignite next month and a bunch of Xbox related news from Gamescom in Europe this past week. Welcome to Episode 188 of Observed Tech. In this show I start off talking about more Universal Windows Platform apps, Windows 10 Mobile and its status, continued progress on Windows 10 Redstone builds and the recent Microsoft Band 2 update. I then jump into tablet sales numbers for 2015, what the former Microsoft CEO has to say about the companies direction, the basics of Mainstream vs Extended support from Microsoft and the lack of Surface Pro 3 devices on store shelves. I then wrap up talking about the senior wearables market, a reboot of Circuit City, Amazon’s shipping costs and eBay’s failure to completely fix a vulnerability on their website that can target customers.
