In this week’s show, I catch you up on my formation during a break over the Christmas period and share some insight into two seasons in the Church – Advent and Christmas. The tech side of the show is packed full of news for Windows Insiders and the latest builds in each testing ring along with an indication of how future builds will roll out. Edge Insiders are also closing in on general availability of Edge (Chromium) so we update on multiple items that can help you prepare. Xbox One X Enhanced Landscapes Wallpaper Packages

Showing off the power of the Xbox One X, Microsoft has launched a new campaign to highlight the realistic scenery that is part of several games on the company’s powerful console. As part of this effort, they have released a series of individual wallpapers showing off these enhanced landscapes across several games. I took those individual images and put them together in downloadable archives so you can grab all the wallpapers in one step.

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 309 #OTP

This week there was a lot happening in the Microsoft tech world. First, we had the public release of the Microsoft Edge Developer and Canary builds of the company’s new Chromium-based browser on Monday. A couple of hours later they then opened up the Windows Insiders Release Preview ring with Build 18362 of the May 2019 Update aka 19H1. Then mid-week, they merged the Skip Ahead 20H1 ring back to the Fast Ring and made Build 18875 available for testers. Pretty much exactly as we predicted and discussed during last week’s show.

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 297 #OTP

A busy week begins with news about the end of support for Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 7 which is in December 2019 and January 2020 respectively. We had a new build in the Windows Insider program and it continues the trend over the last few builds of just tweaking the UI and putting some finishing touches on the next feature update for the OS. We have all kinds of other news related to Microsoft, apps, services, gaming, Office Insiders updates, and HoloLens 2. Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 293 #OTP

We kick this show off by talking about what was thought to be a privacy violation with Windows 10 and turned out to be inconsistent naming of data which is collected. Next up we touch base on the latest information coming out of Redmond around a potential Microsoft 365 Consumer based subscription and how that might be configured/set-up. On the Windows Insider front, we had a new build this week that continues Microsoft’s efforts to make the UI cleaner and more efficient for end users. Including among the changes is some A/B testing of a split between Search and Cortana on the Taskbar plus a new information bar header in Windows Settings. Of course, the show is full of other information, stories, and other tidbits so be sure to listen all the way until the end.
