Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 272 #OTP

In this show I talk about the upcoming three year anniversary of the release of Windows 10 and the journey to where we stand today with the operating system. There have certainly been both successes and hiccups along the way so I will cover the various milestones we have seen. I will also talk about the beginning of the Windows Insider Program, the five feature updates we have seen so far and then I share some ideas I have that could help with the testing of future feature updates. Stability has been a challenge over the last few feature updates and a slight shift in the testing approach might help remedy some of those issues. Suffice it to say that this is a jam packed show so listen all the way to the end.

Welcome to Episode 249 of Observed Tech. This is our special edition everything you wanted to know about the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, new Surface Book 2 hardware, and the Wi-Fi security threat that was recently made public. We are coming to you this episode on a Wednesday because all the Microsoft related software and hardware news is now public after mandatory embargoes lifted earlier this week. That means I can freely talk about my trip to New York City last week for a press briefing from Microsoft without spilling the beans inadvertently. We will catch up on the shipping release of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, how you can get the update right now, and run over several of the system highlights for this fourth major feature update for Windows 10. I also spend a little bit of time talking about the recently disclosed Wi-Fi WPA2 vulnerability and will discuss my approach to dealing with it in the short and long term. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 248 #OTP

Welcome to Episode 248 of Observed Tech. In this weeks show we talk about the final stages before the release of the Windows 10 Creators Update, what build we believe is the final one, and how this last week before the global release of the fourth feature update for Windows 10 will play out. The big news of the week was Microsoft’s withdrawal from the consumer market as they decide to drop Groove Music Pass and partner with Spotify for premium music streaming on Windows 10 devices. While the move upset many and ignited discussions about Microsoft’s non-consumer approach, I found Spotify to be a huge upgrade to Groove. If not for Microsoft’s move, I might not have ever learned about the Spotify experience. In mobile Microsoft news we talk the new Microsoft Launcher for Android and Microsoft Edge for iOS and Android and how they tie into Microsoft’s vision of Windows Timeline. Of course there are plenty of other tidbits sprinkled throughout the show so listen all the way to the end. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!
