Welcome to Episode 290 of Observed Tech.
A very rare Friday edition of the show as I start some downtime but so much happened this past week that I needed to get behind the mike and talk about it with you all.
Leading things off was my unexpected and still unexplained suspension from Twitter for about 18 hours this past Tuesday. I share what the day was like and the absolutely awesome community response that happened.
Then, on that same day that @WinObs was suspended from Twitter, Microsoft finally re-released the October 2018 Update. We heard from Microsoft on how the roll out would proceed plus the new Corporate VP of Windows talked about Windows and quality. Included was a promise of more transparency and better communications but as I discuss – they have one shot to regain some of the lost trust over the last two feature updates. The Windows 10 19H1 update which is currently in development is that opportunity and must be successful when it arrives next Spring.
We also have news about the reviews of Surface Headphones and Surface Studio 2 which are both now available for pre-order. Definitely a mixed response to the headphones and Surface Studio 2 definitely trends highly positive. Of course, we have Xbox News, Android 9 Pie details, and other tidbits throughout the show.
There is also a new way to hear the Observed Tech PODCAST on your Alexa devices and I give you all those details.
As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!
