Electronic Arts will mark their 25th year of creating the Madden NFL Franchise and as they have in the past few years there was a big bracket competition to select the cover athlete.
This year it came down to the finalists – Barry Sanders and Adrian Peterson – and by fan vote Barry Sanders was selected to be on the cover of the 25th edition of Madden NFL.
So I guess this means the game is not going to be referred to as Madden NFL 14 doesn’t it? Madden 25th then? Plus no currently active NFL player has to worry about the Madden Curse either since Barry Sanders retired 15 years ago.
Anyway, the other big reveal tonight along with the cover athlete is the first game play footage of the upcoming title.
This footage looks a lot like a recent NFL commercial for safety but it is intended to highlight a new run style called Run Free.
