The title of the post on the Official Microsoft Blog says it all – Blackjack!
· Xbox 360 sold 270,000 units in September, more units than any other current-generation console, and held 49 percent share of current-generation console sales in the U.S. This marks the 19th consecutive month that Xbox 360 has held more than a 40 percent share of current-generation console sales in the U.S.
· Total retail spend on the Xbox 360 platform in September (hardware, software and accessories) reached $380 million; consumers spent more on Xbox 360 products in September than they spent on the other two current-generation consoles combined.
· During the month of September, Xbox 360 held six of the top 10 U.S. console game titles including: “Madden NFL 13,” “Borderlands 2,” “FIFA Soccer 13,” “NHL 13,” “NCAA Football 13,” and “Sleeping Dogs.”
Two of the smartest things Microsoft ever did in relation to this console was to introduce the Kinect for Xbox 360 which opened up the console to another whole layer of gamers and then to develop the entertainment aspect of things with the significant dashboard updates and bringing in all of the entertainment partners.
