Microsoft has released their advance notification for the security updates we will see next Tuesday, 11 October 2011.

There are eight bulletins being released with two labeled critical and six important that will address a total of 23 vulnerabilities.  They say the bulletins and related downloads can be expected at approximately 10 AM PDT on Tuesday.

The updates will apply to the following Microsoft software:

  • Windows XP SP3/Windows XP Professional x64 SP2
    • Including IE6, IE7, IE8
  • Windows Server 2003 SP2/Windows Server 2003 x64 SP2
    • Including IE6, IE7, IE8
  • Windows Server 2003 SP2 on Itanium
    • Including IE6 and IE7
  • Windows Vista SP2/Windows Vista x64 SP2
    • Including IE7, IE8, IE9
  • Windows Server 2008 SP2/Windows Server x64 SP2
    • Including IE7, IE8, IE9
  • Windows Server 2008 SP2 on Itanium
    • IE7
  • Windows 7/Windows 7 SP1/Windows 7 x64/Windows 7 x64 SP1
    • IE8 and IE9
  • Windows Server 2008 R2/Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
    • IE8 and IE9
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 for Itanium/Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 for Itanium
    • IE8
  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004 SP1
  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2006 SP1
  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2009
  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010
  • Microsoft Silverlight 4
  • Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010
    • Update 1, Update 2 and SP1

Of course the newest Malicious Software Removal Tool will also be made available for download on the same day as the above updates.
