In addition to the expanded countries and cities for trending topics they have also added translation services to the web based Twitter interface which uses Google’s Translation tool.  According to Twitter only a small percentage of users have this right now but it will be rolling out to everyone over the next few weeks.

This translation add on is going to really allow a global community to connect where the language barrier used to prevent us from understanding each other.  I think that is a nice touch by Twitter to expand that connection around the globe.
