I just got this chart in my email from the Business Insider Chart of the Day:


Just look at the increase there from 4 million to about 11 million subscribers in a little more than a year.  I bet Blockbuster wished they had made the move to online delivery as well.

I imagine this being added to Xbox Live and to TiVo has had a positive impact on this growth but most of it has likely come from people just watching more and more movies right online via their broadband connection to the Internet.

I have read plenty about the fact that a lot of people are starting to cut their ties with the big cable companies and using things like Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, Hulu and similar services to get their fill of television and movie entertainment.

It seems to be working for Netflix doesn’t it?
