Microsoft has now posted the August monthly update for the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool for immediate download:
The Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool checks Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Server 2003 computers for and helps remove infections by specific, prevalent malicious software—including Blaster, Sasser, and Mydoom.
Note: This tool is normally released on the second Tuesday of each month along with any security related updates on Patch Tuesday. If you have Windows Update turned on then you should already have this update on your system. These are the direct download center links for the software.
Note: Just found out that this update helps with the removal of Stuxnet:
Additionally, we updated the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT) in August to remove Stuxnet and we are able to report that according to our telemetry, the threat has gone way down from the spike we saw in early August.
