Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices Division which includes Xbox, Zune and Games for Windows brought in $165 million in profits during the companies third quarter of fiscal 2010.  In the same period last year, the division lost $ 41 million.

CFO Peter Klein cited Xbox Live as one of the factors responsible for the Microsoft’s growth.

Microsoft has now shipped over 40 million units worldwide.  This is great news of course for Microsoft, but the gaming industry as a whole continues to outpace even Hollywood.
