According to Xbox’s own Major Nelson via a Twitter post today the Halo Reach Beta will be live on May 3rd.  This is the next installment of Halo franchise.  Reach’s new team-driven game types include four new game types, Generator Defense, Headhunter, Stockplile and Invasion.

In an interview with The Seattle Times, Bungie community director Brian Jarrard says his "conservative estimate" of the number of players checking out the Reach beta will reach over 3 million. Jarrard also drops a hint on Bungie’s future endeavors. "For all intents and purposes, we probably won’t revisit the Halo universe again as a company," he tells the Times. "Our next game is definitely not Halo; it’s something totally new."

In order to participate in the Halo Reach Beta you will have to have a code to redeem that came with the purchase of Halo ODST.  Hopefully thru twitter and other social media outlets they will decide to give out free codes like has been done in past betas.
