Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 122

Welcome to Episode 122 and Daylight Savings Time here in the US.

As the end of support approaches for Windows XP next month the discussion continues about that deadline and tools that are being made available to assist in the transition from XP to a more modern OS. That includes a new free data transfer tool to get your info off an XP machine and to a newer version of Windows and where you will see reminders about the impending end of support.

We start up talking about a possible Google Glass ban on military bases, Radio Shack closing 1,100 stores after spending millions on a Super Bowl commercial, a public beta of Bing Saves, falling PC shipments, the TV series Cosmos returning to broadcast television and the fact that over 400,000 apps in the Apple App Store have never been downloaded even once.

We also shared news of a giveaway we are holding tomorrow, Monday 10 March, in conjunction with a popular Windows and Windows Phone developer for one of their apps. This app will be free for about 24 hours so make sure you keep an eye on us here at WindowsObserver.com and on Twitter for more details.

By the way, the name of the app is mentioned in the podcast as well so be sure to listen in to find out what app you can grab at no cost.
