It Is Official: Windows Store Gets First Flashlight App

It was inevitable actually.  With the RTM of Windows 8 the Windows Store was opened up for developers to begin getting their apps published in the store that will become a repository for Metro Modern style apps for the new OS.

Of course we know that no app store is official until it gets its first flashlight app and now the Windows Store has one of its own.

In all seriousness I see a use for this app especially in a desktop situation. Imagine your working late and need to keep all the lights off so you do not disturb others.  Just snap this app on either the left or right side of your monitor and it will give you a nice bit of light for your desktop and keyboard.

Of course you could always get a nice small light that shines directly onto the desktop as well.

I wonder when we will see the first fart apps in the Windows Store? Come on – you know they are coming – right?

  1. Imagine my working late… and a need for a light aimed into my eyes, while everything else is pretty dark?

You’re asking for a lot of imagination.
