Microsoft’s CEO, Steve Ballmer, revealed today that the Windows 8 Developer Preview has now been downloaded 3 million times since it was released last September during the Microsoft Build Conference. The Windows 8 Developer Preview was released during Microsoft’s developer conference to get developers onboard with the new platform and development tools as it prepares to enter its beta stage next month.
Ballmer was appearing on stage during the AT&T Developers Meeting out in Las Vegas as CES 2012 gets ready to kick off. His appearance was just prior to the official announcement of the first LTE Windows Phone, the HTC Titan II, which will be out “very soon” according to the Microsoft CEO.
He also confirmed, once again, that the first Windows 8 Beta will be out next month as was revealed during the Windows Store news conference in early December 2011.
