Is your Xbox 360 console alone? Is it not connected to the Internet and Xbox Live?
Well Microsoft has posted the recently released Xbox 360 System Update to their download site so you can manually update your lonely Xbox 360 console.
First you have to grab the system update itself which is at the Xbox 360 System Update Download Page (about 85MB).
Your next step is to either put the update on a USB Flash drive or a DVD/CD ROM disc. You can see the full instructions on how to perform this update via either a USB Flash Drive or on a DVD/CD disc at Xbox.com Support.
Never fear – you are just a few steps away from having that USB Flash Memory update like all those connected Xbox 360’s.

can i some how get game updates with out going on xbox live?
According to the Xbox Support folks at @xboxsupport on Twitter title updates must be downloaded through Xbox Live.

Yes you should be able to play any games from Xbox Live.
Hi, When i try to play a movie on my xbox it gives an error, media update… Kindly tell me from where to download it.. I wont connect my xbox to the internet.. !!

From all the research I have done through search it appears you can only get this update online. It is available to both Silver and Gold accounts.
I did see a few sites that offered some alternative methods for getting it offline so you will have to head over to Google and do some search for that if you still want to do this offline.
