New Linking Trend on Twitter

twitterlinktrend twitteraffiliatelinkexample2

I have noticed an interesting linking trend on Twitter recently and thought I would mention it here to see if anyone has insight into what value it brings if any.

I have seen the spammers who put trending phrases in their tweets in order to get more views on their tweets.  They are working to get their site visited and typically more views means more clicks means more visits.

However, these new linking trends as pictured above include 3 or 4 users who are totally unrelated to each other, the user who made the tweet and the link for which they are providing.

These kind of things just make me wonder why do it. This just adds to the noise of Twitter.
