Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 174 #OTP

Welcome to Episode 174 of Observed Tech. This show is our big follow up to all of the Microsoft news out of their New York City hardware event last week. We learned more about HoloLens, Microsoft Band 2, Lumia 550, 950 and 950 XL, the Surface Pro 4 and some new accessories. The big surprise of the event was the Surface Book which seemed to have caught the tech world off guard. While I was in NYC I got to attend the big #Windows10Devices Fan Party and was able to get some hands on time with the new hardware so I talk about that as well. Finally, there is a new build of Windows 10 for Insiders, 10565, this week which brings fit and finish as Threshold 2 moves towards release. I also discuss the best feature added in this build which was long overdue. Until next time enjoy the show and thanks for listening.

Welcome to Episode 172 of Observed Tech. This episode brings you plenty of Windows 10 goodness and information including the new operating systems momentum in its first month of availability. Suffice it to say the supposed last version of Windows has easily surpassed its predecessors and these numbers are machines running Windows 10 and not just licenses that have been sold. I also have info about Windows 10 updates, Windows Hello hardware, a new Snip program with voice and inking annotation plus Microsoft’s effort to make Office the focal point of the company instead of Windows. In addition to the Windows 10 stuff I also talk about the 20th anniversary of Windows 95’s release and a 20 year birthday that lands a little closer to home. Until next time enjoy the show and thanks for listening.

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 170 #OTP

Welcome to Episode 170 of Observed Tech. On the eve of Microsoft’s 2015 Worldwide Partner Conference I wanted to get a show recorded to catch up on the big ticket items from the last couple of weeks. Over that time frame there has been four desktop builds of Windows 10 released (10158, 10159, 10162 and 10166) along with a new Windows 10 Mobile build (10166). Of course, the big news item was the Windows Phone related cuts and layoffs that Microsoft announced this past week and that is impacting nearly 8,000 employees who will soon be out of a job. I definitely wish them all good luck on their new opportunities because this is impacting people – the hardware and other concerns come second to that. Along with those items there is also news about Office 2016, Windows 10 RTM, Windows Hello facial recognition, Groove music and a new universal Remote Desktop app for Windows 10. Until next time enjoy the show and thanks for listening.
