Welcome to Episode 178 of Observed Tech. Ready for another episode of Observed Tech that is full of Windows 10 related news? Well this one will help with that because last week there were two major Windows 10 related releases from Microsoft for the Xbox One and PCs/tablets. Of course there are other items in this episode such as my hands on with Microsoft Band v2, OEMs blaming Windows 10 for their users woes and a new Insider program from Microsoft. Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 177 #OTP
Welcome to Episode 177 of Observed Tech. I am back after a week in Redmond, WA attending the annual Microsoft MVP Summit on Microsoft’s Campus where I had the chance to meet with members of the Windows product team and connect with MVPs from all over the world. It is always great to be reminded that passionate people are working on the software and hardware we all use and my annual visits to Microsoft for this Summit does just that. In this episode we talk about the OneDrive storage situation that hit everyone by surprise last week, the Threshold 2 update for Windows 10 and the arrival of Windows 10 on Xbox One consoles later this week. Of course, mixed in throughout are other tidbits of news collected together over the last week or so. Until next time enjoy the show and thanks for listening.
Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 176 #OTP
Welcome to Episode 176 of Observed Tech. In this show we take a look at Microsoft’s very solid Q1 2016 financial quarter which was announced last week and resulted in the companies stock reaching all time highs in trading. Along with that positive news was info about 1,000 jobs that were cut in the companies continuing effort to become more efficient and cost effective. We also learned last week that Bing is finally profitable for the Redmond company and is a key element in so many other areas for Microsoft and a reason for its success. Of course, what show would be complete without some Windows 10 related news about mobile, desktop and console builds of the new operating system so that is in this episode as well. To top things off I talk about the mobile crossroads I have reached with Android and Windows 10 Mobile/Windows Phone and how that is impacting my future mobile choices. No show next week as I will be in Redmond on the Microsoft Campus for the annual MVP Summit but I will bring you as much public information as I can throughout the week. Until next time enjoy the show and thanks for listening.
Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 175 #OTP
Welcome to Episode 175 of Observed Tech. I kick off this show by telling you a little about the Geeks Network which is the new home for this podcast and thanking the TechPodcasts Network for all their support since the early days of this endeavor. There is still plenty of Windows 10 news to discuss and ponder as Microsoft released new builds for both desktop and mobile in the last week. We have also seen new Universal Windows Platform apps that have arrived on Windows 10 and I talk about what that might mean for the app ecosystem on both sides of the platform. Of course still more hardware to talk about as well with the Lumia 950XL’s mysteriously being pulled from the shelves at Microsoft Stores, a Lumia 550 feature video and another one all about Continuum. There is also the subject of another week and another Windows 10 build being leaked. This one is 10568 and it supposedly introduces some interesting elements relating to choosing your defaults in the OS. I then close this episode out by discussing a petition directed at Microsoft to allow users more control and give them more info about updates for their systems and then share my concerns about whether I can move back to Windows 10 Mobile from Android after six months on the platform. There are also other tidbits scattered throughout so until next time enjoy the show and thanks for listening.
