Links Between Today’s Technology and Envisioning The Future

officecasualvideologo

Everyone remembers that video Microsoft showed off last week that gave us a peek into the future of productivity right?

It has been viewed on YouTube over 1.5 million times since it was posted on 25 Oct – certainly obtains the status of viral in my opinion.

Well as you watched that video did you wonder where the connections came from?  Did you wonder how they got from today’s technology to envisioning the future technology we may see?

Have no fear because our friend Doug Thomas of the Office Casual Blog is here and he takes us on a behind the scenes look of the technology we use today and how it predicts the manners in which we will interact with technology in the future.

Kurt DelBene, the President of the Office Business Division, recently introduced the world to a future vision of productivity. This elegant, non-narrated video is based on reams of research. The video certainly is cool, but I wanted to see where today’s technology is laying the foundation for this vision. I talked with the creators of video, looked at their data, and generally peeked behind the curtain.

Of course he adds his own unique brand of humor to the video so make sure you keep an eye out for it.
