Several Windows System Updates Posted at Microsoft Download Center

I just came across a long list of new updates that are available on the Microsoft Download Center for client versions of Windows. They are apparently the non-critical system updates like those released on Patch Tuesday each month. Probably important to download if your having any issues.

Here is the summary:

System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB947821) [April 2010]

This tool is being offered because an inconsistency was found in the Windows servicing store which may prevent the successful installation of future updates, service packs, and software.

System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 (KB947821) [April 2010]

System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB947821) [April 2010]

This tool is being offered because an inconsistency was found in the Windows servicing store which may prevent the successful installation of future updates, service packs, and software.

Update for Windows 7 (KB980368)

Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB980368)

Install this update to enable handler mapping to work correctly with extensionless URL’s.

Update for Windows 7 (KB975496)

Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB975496)

Install this update to resolve the issue in which a computer stops responding during shutdown if BitLocker is enabled on the system drive on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

Update for Windows 7 (KB980408)

Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB980408)

Install this update to resolve reliability issues with Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2.

Update for Windows Server 2008 (KB980248)

Update for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB980248)

Install this update to remove the Windows File Protection from applicable Windows font files.

Update for Windows XP (KB981669)

Install this update to resolve a set of known application compatibility issues with Windows Installer 4.5 on Windows XP.
