Tomorrow is Patch Tuesday for September 2009

microsoft

Part of your post weekend to do list should include downloading the latest security updates for your Microsoft operating system.

There are five updates for the Windows OS and all are labeled as critical – all of which are updates that are impacted by Remote Code Execution. They will be available starting at 10:00 AM Pacific Time tomorrow, 08 Sep 2009.

You can see more at the Microsoft security bulletin advance notification for September 2009 page but don’t expect much info as I believe they are keeping specific details under wraps to prevent exploitation of the vulnerability prior to the patches being available.

You can go also ahead and register now for the September security bulletin webcast which is scheduled for 11:00 AM Pacific Time:

Event Overview

On September 9, 2009, Microsoft releases its monthly security bulletins. Join us for a brief overview of the technical details of the September security bulletins. We intend to address your concerns in this webcast, therefore, most of the webcast is devoted to attendees asking questions about the bulletins and getting answers from Microsoft security experts.

You can also subscribe so you can get security bulletin notifications in your own inbox or RSS feed as it is very smart to stay up to speed on these updates to keep yourself in good shape security wise.

As always – stay safe out there on the Internet.
