Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 256 #OTP

Welcome to episode 256 of Observed Tech. This episode gets is heading back into our weekly schedule of shows and has plenty of news across a broad range of subjects. To start things off I talk about my viewing experience last week as I watched SpaceX launch their Falcon Heavy rocket with a red Tesla roadster in it from Cocoa Beach. Also, the experience of seeing not just one but two boosters land just six miles away from my viewing spot was top notch and spectacular. Once we get the spacey stuff out of the way, I returned to talking about the latest with Windows 10 Redstone 4 as we approach the final few weeks of public development builds for this fifth feature update which is expected to be near completion in March 2018. Fully expecting to see it pushed out to the initial release audience on 10 April 2018 which is Patch Tuesday. A lot of updates were in the latest Redstone 4 release to Windows Insiders Build 17093 along with more than 50 documented fixes and a laundry list of about 25 or so know issues. That lists should start shrinking over the next couple of builds. BUILD 2018 dates have been confirmed for this May in Seattle, the Resume Assistant for Word is now generally available, and Windows developers got some new goodies this week as well. Of course, there are other news headlines throughout the show so be sure to listen all the way until the end and not miss anything. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 254 #OTP

Welcome to episode 254 of Observed Tech and our final episode of the year as we wrap up 2017 and look forward to what 2018 might have in store for all of us. This is a show I really enjoy doing because I go back through some of the news of the last 12 months and look back on what has happened with technology and then I turn that around looking into the next 12 months of 2018 and try to lay down an idea of what the next year will be like. There are no show notes with this episode because my notes for this is simply an outline to drive the end of year/next year conversation. Of course, this show is not even possible without all of you who tune in and give a listen so as always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening. See you in 2018!

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 253 #OTP

Welcome to episode 253 of Observed Tech. I kick this show off telling you about my initial impressions of the Eve V 2-in-1 convertible computer designed with the help of 1,000 members of the Eve Community. I also have a full product image gallery available for you to take a look at the new device. Then we catch up on the latest with the Windows Insider Program, Redstone 4, and how new features will roll out to testers in the future. Suffice it to say that some Windows Insiders are not very happy about these changes that might mean waiting to see a new feature. We then hit on subjects such as no more Facebook accounts on Skype, Windows Mixed Reality, Microsoft Edge on Mobile devices, and Amazon Alexa device sales over the recent holiday shopping weekend. Otherwise, there are other news headlines through the show so be sure to listen all the way until the end and not miss anything. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 252 #OTP

Welcome to the 252nd episode of Observed Tech. This is our Cyber Monday episode and our first in a couple of weeks after I took some vacation time over the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday but it is good to be back. I use this episode as a chance to catch up on the development process of Windows 10 Redstone 4, the next big feature update that Microsoft is working on, and discuss the last few builds that have been released to Windows Insiders. I also share with you my thoughts on how many more builds we might see before the end of 2017 as Microsoft approached their unofficial holiday break when many software engineers and program managers will be off for a couple of weeks. We then discuss Windows 10 Mobile hardware opportunities for the remaining lifecycle of the Windows 10 Mobile operating system, a new browser from Firefox, and bots that will help you faster than a live person. Of course, there are other news headlines in the show so be sure to listen all the way until the end so you do not miss any. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 251 #OTP

Welcome to the 251 of Observed Tech. In the first of our second 250 episodes we jump in and talk about Windows 10 Redstone 4 and the latest build released this past week for the next major feature update for Windows 10 that is expected in Spring 2018. There are some great new features and two I am particularly enamored with right now. Next up are some significant changes that have been made on the Twitter social media platform and I share how you can get access to them even though the official Twitter app for Windows 10 has not yet been updated to support the new enhancements. Then I discuss some new IT Pro related news out of Microsoft and then provide you with a bunch of information about the release of the Xbox One X. Suffice it to say you better get your bandwidth ready if you want to enjoy the 4K upgrades to your favorite games. Of course, there are plenty of other news headlines in the show so be sure to listen all the way until the end so you do not miss any. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!
