Welcome to Episode 249 of Observed Tech. This is our special edition everything you wanted to know about the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, new Surface Book 2 hardware, and the Wi-Fi security threat that was recently made public. We are coming to you this episode on a Wednesday because all the Microsoft related software and hardware news is now public after mandatory embargoes lifted earlier this week. That means I can freely talk about my trip to New York City last week for a press briefing from Microsoft without spilling the beans inadvertently. We will catch up on the shipping release of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, how you can get the update right now, and run over several of the system highlights for this fourth major feature update for Windows 10. I also spend a little bit of time talking about the recently disclosed Wi-Fi WPA2 vulnerability and will discuss my approach to dealing with it in the short and long term. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!
Welcome to Episode 152. In this weeks episode we talk hardware including Surface Pro 3 making Time’s list of the 25 best inventions of 2014, the limited availability of Microsoft Band throughout the US and Xbox One’s celebration of its one year birthday on the market. There is also news on the app front as Foursquare gets a complete makeover on Windows Phone with a little help from Microsoft while another big company, American Airlines, decides to pull their Windows Phone app. Related to apps news is the fact that Twitter has decided they will not open up their full searchable Tweet Archive to 3rd party apps via the Twitter API so we discuss the impact this will have on third party Twitter app development. There is also plenty of other news items on the list for discussion so be sure to check out the entire show. Until next time enjoy the show and thanks for listening.
Welcome to Episode 142. I begin the show by explaining a change in the weekly production and publication of the OTP because of my new full time job. Bottom line is that you should get each week’s new episode on Monday and occasionally on Tuesday when the Monday is a holiday – like this week for example. Flexibility is the name of the game when it comes to getting the podcast out but it is a good problem to have – a full time job to work around. I also hit on apps and Windows Phone again because it always seems to be an issue and also mention the breaking news of upload file size limitations being removed for Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud storage. Of course the normal collection of tech news and other items fill up the rest of the show. Until next time enjoy the show and thanks for listening.
