Faith, Tech, and Space (Episode 8)

Last episode we recorded in our reconfigured podcast studio. Now we are live streaming our recording session via YouTube. Now you can see my face, hands, and eyes as I share faith, tech, and space. I have updates on my own faith formation, current tech headlines, and some space news in this episode. Much of what we discuss is impacted by the current lock downs and stay at home orders due to the COVID-19 coronavirus. Working From Home and Remote Working is the new norm and many of these changes are likely to become more permanent when we return to whatever normal is in the coming months. Some of the headlines we catch up on include the latest for Windows and Edge Insiders, talk about the transition of Office 365 to Microsoft 365 for personal and family use, and how companies are adapting to the current situation. We also discuss Microsoft’s decision to go virtual with all their in-person events until at least July 2021 and what impact COVID-19 is and is not having on launches and other space news including the first potential launch of astronauts from U.S. soil in May.

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 279 #OTP

This week’s show begins with a stroll down memory lane to about 23 years ago when Windows 95 was released to the public. It corresponds with the early beginnings of this very website and where I am today. Next we talk about Windows Insidering with new Redstone 5 Fast Ring Builds, two of them this week once again, as we get closer to the public release of what is expected to be called the October 2018 Update. We also have news about a new Office 365/Microsoft 365 merged roadmap before Ignite next month and a bunch of Xbox related news from Gamescom in Europe this past week. Of course, those are just snapshots into the content in this weeks show so be sure to listen all the way until the end for all the details. As always, thanks for listening.

Observed.Tech PODCAST Episode 232 #OTP

Welcome to Episode 232 of Observed.Tech. It has been a huge busy week to catch up on from all the new hardware at COMPUTEX, a little Windows Insidering adventure with inadvertent build releases, Google blocking ads, continued discussions around system security and real-time protection, and a new podcast I am now hosting for work. Starting with that last item, I am happy to invite all of you to listen in on the inaugural episode of the IT Pro Today PODCAST that we just started over at Penton and the Windows IT Pro website. I co-host with one of my Content Editors and the format will include an interview with someone in the IT Pro/Tech Community plus a follow on round table segment to talk about current news and other items. I hope you will come over and check out the show as we are getting started. Many of you know last week that some builds were inadvertently sent out to Windows Insiders and so we talk about that and how to sort your device out if you ended up getting the unintended build. Of course, COMPUTEX was big last week with so many hardware related announcements so I discuss those and how OEM hardware is improving overall plus what impact some new gear will have on Microsoft’s mobile plans. Sprinkled through out the show is other news such as Google Chrome and blocking ads, how smartphones have impacted customer service, Amazon forking out a lot of money for some unauthorized purchases, the 2017 Internet Trends report, and one of the biggest airplanes you have ever seen! As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!
