Comparing M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD Versus SATA 3 SSD

My recent opportunity to build a new main desktop has resulted in me learning about a new (to me) style of SSD called the M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. Since my new PC build’s motherboard supports this form factor of SSD drives, I decided to test its speed compared to standard SATA 3 SSD. The difference is huge on the scale of moving from a spinning hard drive to SSD many years ago.
