Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 282 #OTP

This week I share some insight about how straight forward an Xbox One console reset is when you need to get back to basics and then discuss the fact that Microsoft is not starting a new monthly charge for all Windows users despite some stories which want you to think otherwise. It has also been a busy week for Windows Insiders with multiple build releases across all branches plus I share my thoughts about where we stand when it comes to the end of Redstone 5’s development cycle and release. I also share details about Microsoft’s planned deprecation of the Disk Cleanup Utility in Windows 10 and a fresh rumor about the October Microsoft hardware event in NYC. Of course there are tidbits throughout the show including news about Xbox, updated apps in Windows 10 and on the web, Chromebooks with Windows network connectivity and Microsoft’s servicing criteria for Windows. Make sure you listen from start to finish so you catch all the items we cover this week. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!

This week I begin with some tech troubles as I hit the 10 device limit while setting up a new device for my stable of test machines. I also share the news that this podcast is now listed at iHeartRadio so listeners can get access through that platform. This has been a regular request over the last couple of months so glad to deliver that capability to listeners! We then discuss all the new Windows Insider builds and where we stand with Slow Ring, Fast Ring and Skip Ahead development. We also reiterate that we are not at final release yet – getting close for sure – but we are not there yet. Next up is Microsoft’s recently announced hardware event in New York City at the beginning of October plus we have app updates galore to share details about. Of course, there are headlines throughout the show so be sure to listen all the way until the end. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!
