Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 292 #OTP

Once again this week we have a massive piece of news to discuss when it comes to Windows 10 and this time it shakes out fairly positive despite a handful of detractors about the news. Although there was no new Windows Insider builds for Fast Ring this past week, there was some Insider news so we will also discuss those items. However, the Microsoft Edge news dominates everything about Windows 10 this week. There are multiple app updates to cover on Windows 10 and Xbox One plus we have headlines from Amazon, Apple, Google, Qualcomm Snapdragon, and WordPress to share as well. Be sure to listen all the way through to catch everything. Thanks for listening.

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 271 #OTP

This week I begin with some news about an Xbox Game Pass giveaway and then dive into all the juicy news including heavy duty Andromeda hardware rumors/leaks, the latest feature to be dropped from RS5, and the fast pace which the April 2018 Update is landing on Windows 10 systems. I also get to share with you about a classic piece of Microsoft hardware that is back on my desktop, improvements around facial recognition, Google almost having a shot at GitHub before Microsoft scooped them up and maybe Microsoft is not bailing on consumers after all. Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 268 #OTP

Welcome to Episode 268 of Observed Tech. This is a Sunday evening episode of the show because I held off on recording until after Microsoft’s Big Xbox E3 Briefing that was held this afternoon from California on the eve of E3. It was a busy 90 minutes with 52 games shown including multiple world premiere’s and console based exclusives. We even heard about machine learning, artificial intelligence, and the cloud and how all of those technologies are improving the Microsoft gaming experience. However, this show is not all fun and games. We also talk about the latest Redstone 5 builds for Windows 10, reaction to the companies GitHub acquisition, and all the new hardware that was announced at COMPUTEX this past week. Enjoy the show and thanks for listening.

Observed.Tech PODCAST Episode 212 #OTP

After a hiatus for work, travel and a working vacation we are back on Observed.Tech and the timing could not be more perfect. In the last 24 hours alone Microsoft has released a massive update to Windows Insiders with Windows 10 Build 14986 aka the Creators Update – the expected third major Feature Update to Windows 10 that is due out in March 2017. Then at WinHEC in China they announced Project Evo for Mixed Reality devices in partnership with Intel for the PC hardware and Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo for a new range of head mounted devices or HMDs to deliver the mixed reality experience at a wide variety of price points to Windows 10 users. After that we heard of the new partnership between Microsoft and Qualcomm to deliver the full blown version of Windows 10 including x86 desktop programs through emulation in 2017. These devices will have a wide range of form factors and could feasibly include phones, tablets, laptops, 2 in 1s, and maybe even home devices similar to Amazon Echo and Google Home. It certainly appears when Microsoft said earlier this year their focus was not on mobile for right now or last week when Satya Nadella told concerned stockholders they were not abandoning mobile that they were right on the mark. It is about to be a very exciting year in the Microsoft and Windows ecosystem and I share my excitement in this week’s return from hiatus show. Enjoy the show and thanks for listening!
