Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 314 #OTP

This week I share about my recent office reorganization and the resulting tech purge that it has resulted in as I start to clear out old technology and e-cycle it. We catch up on a slow week for Windows Insiders and discuss the potential release of the first 19H2 bits to testers. Then we discuss COMPUTEX and Microsoft’s interesting announcement about a modern operating system right in the middle of them sharing about new OEM hardware running Windows 10. Of course, spread throughout the show we talk about other things like the changes around the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) and why some believe it is dead, tons of updates around apps and services, plus tidbits about gaming, security, and social media. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 244 #OTP

Welcome to Episode 244 of Observed Tech. This is our Hurricane Irma edition of the show as we have prepared for and will now ride out this approaching storm in our home. Since all the preps are done I was able to get behind the microphone and bring you this episode from my Hurricane Irma Bunker with the windows of my studio boarded up and ready for the storm’s arrival tomorrow. Thanks for all the expressions of support and concern that have come in through social media – they are all very much appreciated. This show has the normal mix of Microsoft, Windows 10, and other tech news including the massive user data breach at Equifax that was just revealed a couple of days ago. Of course, there is other news relating to apps and services from Microsoft for Windows 10 and plenty of other tidbits across a wide range of tech subjects throughout the show so be sure to listen all the way until the end. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 134 #OTP

Welcome to Episode 134. This is the show where one of my main lead off items is Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference from earlier this week – yes it really is! As the show Starts Up I talk about a new writing focused site called Medium and mention a few details from Apple’s WWDC that began on Monday including some very familiar features and at least one significant product naming issue. Last week the Microsoft Store began offering a nice military discount and I found a really superb discount for the annual Office 365 Home subscriptions for military members and veterans. The reviews continue to trickle in for the Surface Pro 3 including posts focused just on the unique pen and the speakers. COMPUTEX has begun in Taiwan and as expected we are seeing a lot of new devices from manufacturers although some of the form factors are very familiar. In the middle part of the show you will find the normal collection of news I keep an eye on each week including items relating to Microsoft, Windows, Windows Phone, Office, Security, Cloud, Hardware, Apps, Services, Xbox, Internet Explorer and Social Media. As I wrap up the show and do the normal Shut Down I talk about device operating systems, Apple’s poke at the installed base of Windows, Harry McCracken’s life after TIME with Technologizer 3.0, USS ARIZONA’s new 3D scan, NFL Network coming to streaming devices, hurricane season, MVP’s of Xbox and helping your dad stay safe this Father’s Day. Until next time enjoy the show and thanks for listening.
