Microsoft’s Game Pass subscription service was initially launched last June and has been positively received among Xbox One gamers. Since then Microsoft has continued to curate the collection of games by adding new titles along the way while removing games that are not as popular in the collection.
In January of this year, the service was updated to include all Microsoft Studios games on the day of their launch. That means titles like Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, and Crackdown 3 will be available to Game Pass subscribers on the day of their release. This will also include popular franchises like Halo, Forza and Gears of War.
Since many of these first party titles have a MSRP of around $60 at launch, the annual Game Pass subscription cost of $99 can be easily recouped with the addition of just two first party title additions each year.
If you have not yet tried out the Xbox Game Pass subscription then now might be a good time as Microsoft is offering a special deal for new subscribers. For just $2 you can get two months of Game Pass and see what you think of the service. If you like it then the subscription can be extended and you are ready to go. With new integration on the main Xbox One console screen, it is easy to see what is available and begin your exploration of the service.
Even if you decide after two months that you will not continue the service, any gamerscore and achievements you pick up during that period are still yours. The subscription must be maintained to retain access to the games themselves though.
This new subscriber offer will be available until 31 August 2018.
So if you have been on the fence about Game Pass, this $2 for two months of access is the perfect way to try things out.
