Welcome to Episode 264 of Observed Tech.

We get to begin this episode with some news finally about the release of the Redstone 4 feature update that has been in development for the last nine months. After 27 builds Microsoft will make the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, yes that is the official name, available for the general public beginning tomorrow the 30th of April.

Initial availability will be through various download methods. Media Creation Tool (MCT), Update Assistant, and channels like MSDN & Visual Studio for subscribers of those services. The following week, on Patch Tuesday (8th of May), it will start showing up on Windows Update. I expect that roll out to be very measured and initially target known hardware configurations. This would match up to how they have done this in past feature update roll outs as well.

Of course, there are other news headlines throughout the show such as the release of Office 2019 preview, a new Gmail, Amazon and a bevy of new services, and some Xbox news as well. I also spend a little time talking about the recent counterfeiting case that has created interesting reactions on social media. So be sure to listen all the way until the end and not miss anything.

As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!
