Welcome to Episode 237 of Observed Tech.

Once again a very busy week that included Microsoft Inspire, the event formerly known as the Worldwide Partner Conference, and the continued development of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

At Inspire there were several new announcements ranging from changes to Microsoft’s sales organization to better align with their partners as they provide Microsoft Cloud based solutions to their own customers. We heard about the new Microsoft 365 subscriptions for businesses and enterprise customers that now include Windows 10, Office 365, and several other cloud based services such as OneDrive and Skype for Business.

Microsoft also spent some time talking about their efforts to get broadband to more rural Americans, using AI to benefit the planet, and helping customers comply with the new General Data Protection Regulations (GPDR) that go into effect across the European Union in 2018.

On the Windows 10 development front we saw a new Slow Ring build make its way to testers along with ISOs to help facilitate clean installations of the OS for those who want to do that as the final Bug Bash for the next feature update for Windows 10 gets underway. The Windows Insider team also released new Fast Ring builds for PC, 16241, as the week closed out. Tow big new shell features in the last two builds includes controls over bandwidth and data usage for Windows Update plus the ability to finally reset your PIN and password from the Windows 10 Lock Screen.

Spread throughout the show are plenty of other tidbits across a wide range of tech subjects so be sure to listen all the way until the end.

As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!
