On Friday I shared with you the recent news that the Microsoft Store is now offering a discount to members of the military who are serving on active duty, the reserves and to those who are veterans based on previous service.
Over the weekend I found another very nice discount for anyone who is eligible to shop at the various military exchanges, which typically means they have a military ID of some sort, and can access the bases where the stores are located or the online counterparts.
For quite a few years now Microsoft has offered a Military Appreciation Edition of their Home and Student Microsoft Office suite of software. Most of the past versions licensing allowed it to be installed on up to 3 computers in the same household and the pricing on the boxed software was usually about $79.99.
Microsoft is now offering their Office 365 Home subscription, which was formerly known as Office 365 Home Premium, to those military members I mentioned above for just $69.99 a year. That is a discount of $30.00 or 30% annually.
Office 365 Home Military Appreciation Edition includes all of the Office programs:
- Word
- Excel
- Outlook
- PowerPoint
- OneNote
- Publisher
- Access
This is the same Office 365 subscription that costs $99.99 year and that means it can be installed on up to 5 PC’s or Mac’s as well as 5 tablet devices. Those tablet installs can be used to activate Office for iPad apps on iOS for instance.
This discounted subscription also provides all of the other benefits that come with Office 365 Home:
- 20GB of extra OneDrive cloud storage per user (up to 5)
- 60 minutes of Skype Worldwide calling to over 60 countries
- Microsoft Tech Support for Office 365 at no extra charge
By the way, that discounted $69.99 is the same amount that Microsoft now offers the Office 365 Personal subscription for and that subscription can only be installed on one PC or Mac and one tablet for activating Office for iPad.
This special Military Appreciation Edition Office 365 Home subscription is an awesome value and another example of a company taking care of those who choose to serve our country.
If you are eligible for this offer then visit http://www.microsoft.com/office/offers/military/ and you will find links to the different military exchanges online stores. Once you click your branches link you will have to validate your eligibility. Once you are in the online exchange store just search for Office 365 to find the subscription.
Enjoy and thanks for your service.
