I already told you about the post Windows 8.1 updates that are available for the x86/x64 version of Windows 8.1 RTM and now it is Surface RT’s turn to get some post 8.1 updates as well.
After I got my Surface RT updated to Windows 8.1 one of the first things I did was check Windows Update as there was at least an expected post 8.1 GA Rollup.
I found it interesting that I was once again offered the October firmware update which I had previously installed earlier in the month. I am not sure if that is typical for others updating to 8.1 on Surface RT or not.
Here is the info on the key updates for Surface RT 8.1:
Update for Microsoft Camera Codec Pack for Windows RT 8.1 (KB2859675) – Installing the Microsoft Camera Codec Pack enables the viewing of a variety of device-specific file formats and will allow supported RAW camera files to be viewable in applications in Windows. After you install this update, you may have to restart your system.
Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows RT 8.1 (KB2886439) – Install this update to resolve issues in Windows. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

So when you are done tweaking your new Windows 8.1 RT install make sure you head over to Windows Update for these and get them installed.
