Well Brandon LeBlanc, Microsoft’s Official Blogger, just posted on the Blogging Windows blog that Windows 8.1 will be made available to all of us end users on 18 October 2013.

That is exactly:

  • 65 days
  • 2 months and 4 days
  • 5,616,000 seconds
  • 93,600 minutes
  • 1,560 hours
  • about 9 weeks

According to Brandon’s post the Windows 8.1 update will also be available in retail stores and on new OEM hardware on the same date.

It is great to have an official date for its availability but in this day and age of digital downloads and delivery – why are we waiting this long when the RTM will be handed over to OEM’s this month?
