Not sure I ever imagined that those two concepts would be in the same headline but then again you never quite know about such things do you?

Well Microsoft is throwing out an enticement to encourage either gamers to get a free year of Xbox Live with their Office 365 subscriptions or for Office 365 subscribers to get a year worth of Xbox Live Gaming for free.

You pick whichever one works for you!

Anyway according to the offer page, which appears on the UK and other country versions of Microsoft’s Office 365 product pages, it is offered in the following countries:

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong SAR, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

Conspicuously missing from that list is the United States.

However, Mary Jo Foley leaves no rock unturned and confirmed with Microsoft in her story, see source link below, that the deal is in fact being offered here in the US as well.

So that is a nice $60 value for any one who would also like to get Office 365 Home Premium which costs $99.99 per year as a subscription. Under that subscription you can install Access, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Word on up to 5 PC’s and/or Macs. College students are also eligible for this offer under the Office 365 University subscription which costs $79.99 for four years.
