If you own a Surface RT you know that one of the features was the inclusion of Microsoft’s Office Home and Student 2013 RT.

Office Home and Student 2013 RT It is a software suite that provides you RT versions of Microsoft Word, OneNote, Excel and PowerPoint and provides you full compatibility with documents you create on other devices with the normal version of Office programs.

However, if you were to go to the desktop control panel and take a look at the installed software you would find this:

Notice there is no entry for the included Office Home and Student 2013 RT.

If you check the updates side of this control panel applet you will see all the updates that have been downloaded for Windows RT and Office Home and Student 2013 RT but that is it.

You see that entry in the Control Panel Uninstall Applet not only starts the uninstall process for the software, which I do not recommend by the way for Office 2013 RT, but it will also allow you to initiate a Repair of the Office 2013 RT installation. That comes in handy at times of your install gets corrupted.

The issue is how do you initiate a repair of your Office Home and Student 2013 RT then?

Well the support team at Microsoft has developed a Microsoft Fix It that will allow you to make those repairs.
