Nearly a month after the Portico update rolled out on ATT for the Nokia Lumia 920 handset it is now hitting the airwaves for users of the HTC 8X.
One of the major changes when it comes to updates now on your Windows Phone 8 handset is that you no longer need to connect to your computer and phone to transfer the update.
In Windows Phone 8 updates are now delivered OTA or Over The Air. It is not 100% accurate though because the major updates that have significant size to them must be downloaded over Wi-Fi and can not be obtained over your cellular data connection.
Probably a smart move to prevent excess data charges.
If you are curious how the update process works take a look at my post about updating the Nokia Lumia 920 last month – the experience is the exact same on the HTC 8X.
