These days we have files everywhere don’t we? In the cloud, on our laptops, desktops, tablets and smartphones. Sometimes it can be a challenge herding all of that info into one place or accessing data you want to stream like movies and music when you are travelling.

Seagate has announced a couple of storage options that want to make that access more convenient.

Seagate Wireless Plus Mobile Device Storage – allows you to stream content for up to eight smartphones, enough storage for 500 HD movies, has 10 hours of battery life and an integrated 1TB drive. The device is accessed through the Seagate Media App and it is only available for iOS and Android devices. Disappointing it can not be used via a web browser as well but still a great idea for travelling times when there is no Internet connection available. The device will work with DLNA so some Windows systems will work with it.

Seagate Central Shared Storage – this networked home storage device is the first to include a Smart TV App so you can access your stored files on your compatible Smart TV. This device will backup your home computers, allow access from other networked devices and remote access when you are away from home. The backup options work for both Windows OS and Mac OS X machines and includes options to back up your photos and videos right off of Facebook. This drive is also DLNA compatible.

Good backup solutions are those that you setup and forget about because they just work and believe me you do not want to find out you need a backup solution, even at home, when you actually need one.
