Well we have arrived in 2013 in pretty good shape and the world is starting to spin back up to full speed as everyone sees their holidays come to an end and they return to work.

Consider this story as a friendly reminder that there are a few offers from Microsoft expiring at the end of this month that relate to Windows 8 so you may want to be thinking about grabbing them while you can.

Windows 8 Pro Upgrade for $39.99 – This offer went live at the launch of Windows 8 on 26 October 2012 and can be accessed by visiting http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/upgrade-to-windows-8 and downloading the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant Wizard which will walk you though the process.  One nice feature of this method of upgrading is that you can send them payment with PayPal.  You will be giving options to either directly upgrade your current Windows install, which includes versions all the way back to Windows XP with SP3, or doing a clean installation.

Add Windows Media Center to Windows 8 Pro at no cost – This deal allows you to get a product key that will let you add Windows Media Center to your Windows 8 Pro device for free.  You do not have to use the above offer to qualify for this one so if you recently purchased a new Windows 8 machine you can also take advantage of this deal.  Just visit http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/feature-packs and fill out the form with your email address and enter the CAPTCHA.

Special offers on Windows 8 Apps – This deal, which will save you $70 if you take advantage of all of the offerings, includes six apps and gives you the apps for free or offers discounts on services or access fees. You can visit here to see all the specifics.

I recommend you at least take a look at the offers up above because there is no guarantee they will be back in any other shape or form.

The last two require you to already have Windows 8 installed, Windows 8 Pro for the Media Center offer, but the first one you can download and install later if you are not ready for the move.
